Carp on the fly

Actually, I just wan­ted to test some new strea­mer and lea­der com­bi­na­ti­ons for the upco­m­ing pre­da­tor sea­son at the River Main, but it became a suc­cess­ful fis­hing day with great fish and my big­gest carp on a fly rod. The carp took a nice orange wet fly, the pike and the roach nai­led a small 4cm long Wooly Bugger.

Fly fishing for pike at the Kinzig Lake

Rainbow trout on the fly at the Main River

The Main River is full of sur­pri­ses, and this 55cm rain­bow trout I caught on a nymph at an estuary of a small creek is beside the gol­den ide my per­so­nal favorite.
